Footprints Across UK & Europe: A Summer to Remember
“Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” – Gustave Flaubert
Our family adventure across the UK and Europe from 27th May to 16th June was nothing
short of extraordinary. With nine of us traveling together, the journey was a perfect blend of
discovery, laughter, and togetherness.
We began our tour from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, setting foot in the historic charm of Central
London. Every street whispered stories of the past—Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus,
Charing Cross, Westminster Abbey, and Windsor Castle—each held its own magic.
Standing at Stonehenge and the Roman Bath, we felt time pause for a while. The London
Eye gave us a breath-taking bird’s-eye view, while the National History Museum and Madame
Tussaud’s stirred curiosity and wonder.
Our visit to the Royal Observatory Greenwich made us reflect on time itself, and in Oxford,
the academic spirit lingered in the air. “The world is a book, and those who do not travel
read only one page.” – St. Augustine from London, we boarded the Eurostar underwater
train—an unforgettable experience that felt like stepping into a dream.
Paris welcomed us with romance and grandeur. The dazzling sight of the Eiffel Tower
at twilight was a moment etched forever in memory. At Disneyland Paris,
joy knew no bounds as we relived childhood wonders. And amid French elegance, I
found delight in something simple yet delicious—falafel became my favourite recipe of the trip.
“Happiness is not a destination, it’s a way of travel.”
Switzerland was pure poetry painted in snow and green valleys. In Vevey, serenity embraced
us; at Glacier 3000, we touched the clouds. Saanen and Broc offered picturesque beauty,
while Engelberg, Mount Titlis, and Lucerne dazzled with alpine magic. Riding cable cars,
crossing icy bridges, and gazing at crystal lakes made us feel nature’s grandeur up close.
Germany added its own charm with the Black Forest, Titisee Lake, and the mighty Rhine
Falls—all spectacular beyond words. Standing by Europe’s largest waterfall,
we felt nature’s raw power and beauty intertwine.
“Collect moments, not things.”
Finally, we bid farewell from Zurich, our hearts full of gratitude and joy. Traveling with family
made every sight brighter, every laugh louder, and every memory deeper. This was not just a
holiday—it was a celebration of togetherness, discovery, and joy. Without doubt, we rate
this as an amazing and truly memorable tour, one that will forever remain etched in our hearts.
“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”
