SHLOKA CHANTING COMPETITION
IN
YAGYAVALKYA VIDYA MANDIR, PORBANDAR
The School was highly pleased and honoured to host the Inter School
Shreemad Bhagavad Geeta Shloka Chanting Competition under the AEGIS of
Sahodaya Saurashtra Complex. The program was organized under the expert
guidance of Mr. Hitesh Thanki and Mr. Jayesh Rangwani, with a warm
welcome extended to all dignitaries, participants, and guests.

The competition was held in two main categories: पठन (Reading) and कठस्थ
(Memorized Recitation) with students from Std. 1 to 9 Participating in
different groups. The selected Adhyayas for पठन included Adhyay 12, 9, and
10 for different standards, while for कठस्थ, students presented any five slokas
ं
of their choice from Adhyay 1 to 18.
Participants were judged on the basis of pronunciation, accuracy, rhythm,
voice modulation, spontaneity, memory, attire, and overall presentation. The
competition witnessed an overwhelming participation, with students
chanting the sacred verses melodiously, creating a serene and spiritual
atmosphere.
