I AM NOT I WAS
I am not I was, a shadow of the past
A person I've outgrown, forever to last
The memories remain, but I've moved ahead
A new chapter unfolds, a different thread
I was lost, confused, and searching for the light
But now I'm found, with a heart full of might
I was broken, shattered, and worn away
But now I'm whole, with a brighter day
I am not I was, with scars that remain
But they tell a story of strength and pain
I've learned to let go, to release the weight
And step into the present, with a newfound fate
I am not I was, with tears that have dried
But they watered the growth, that I've applied
I've risen above, with a voice that's clear
And a heart that beats stronger, without fear
I am not I was, but who I am today
A person transformed, in every single way
With every step forward, I leave the past behind
And embrace the present, with an open mind.
