Durga Puja
India is a country, that is known for its magnificent festivals and celebrations, and Durga puja is one of
such grandeur festival which is celebrated all over the country, during Navaratri. During this auspicious
time along with Goddess Durga, Goddess Saraswati and Laxmi; God Ganesh and Kartik are worshiped.
Devi Durga is worshiped as a symbol of power. Her victory over devil Mahishasur symbolises the victory
of good over evil.
In West Bengal, Durga puja is celebrated with big idols, huge pandals and dazzling lightings. Here we find
the true colour of Indian culture and heritage that, regardless of the rich and the poor, all people happily
celebrate the festival together.
Durga puja ends with the immersion ritual on the day of Dashami.
As the season of Durga puja is coming, I want to pray to Maa Durga for a disease free happy world, where
all the children can go to their schools again.
