CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
“The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible. What is
now proved was once only imagined.”
To enhance the imaginations and their infinite reach, under the guidance of our own Principal MR RADHEY
SHYAM PANDEY, Our school science club SCIENTIA ENIM HOMINIS - SCIENCE FOR MANKIND was born and
nurtured. SCIENCE is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable
explanations and predictions about the universe . Science is a way of life. Science is a perspective. Science is the
process that takes us from confusion to understanding in a manner that's precise, predictive and reliable - a
transformation, for those lucky enough to experience it, that is empowering and emotional.
With the continual support of Principal Sir and meticulous efforts of COORDINATOR MR VIKRAMSINGH
KIRATSINGH CHAUHAN, To enhance knowledge, interest of science in students, develop scientific attitude in
them and spread awareness in the society, Our science club SCIENTIA ENIM HOMINIS - SCIENCE FOR
MANKIND keeps on organising various activities. Few of them can be mentioned as below:
I) EXPERIENCING ZERO SHADOW DAY IN JAMNAGAR
The lack of shadow is beautiful too. And it happens twice a year, for places between +23.5 and -23.5 degrees
latitude. The Sun is almost never exactly overhead at noon, but usually transits a bit lower in altitude, a bit to the
north or a bit to the south. All this information regarding the zero shadow day was explained to the students by our
Principal Sir and club coordinator. For this initiative Students from sections VIII to XII showed deep enthusiasm
and participated in the event. All of them advised to go on terrace or in open space and place different objects in
th
sunlight. As on 5 June 2020 at 1249 pm to 1250 pm no shadow of these objects was formed. Students loved the
experience thoroughly. They admired on the beauty of Positional Astronomy. They took pictures and posted them
with the high interest.
II) OBSERVATION OF THE SOLAR ECLIPSE
The Earth witnessed an annular solar eclipse on Sunday, 21 June and the people in India were able to catch this
annual celestial event in action. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth. As
an activity Science club of NVN, took the opportunity on the shoulders and a drive about the awareness of this
fascinating phenomenon was done. Our Principal Sir explained the science of solar eclipse to the students and
encouraged them to observe. Club Coordinator explained the correct methods to observe the solar eclipse. He
explained the appropriate measures to watch it safely. Our club Member students took the initiative in spreading
awareness about the solar eclipse and explaining the correct methods to the neighbours in their vicinity. The
enthusiasm of our students was high throughout. They not only observed the beautiful phenomenon but also
loved it. This was a rare event and all were happy to be the part of this experience.
