A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people. Mahatma Gandhi
Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's quote and having taught Social Studies before, I personally feel cultural
heritage plays a very important role in our life. It is what keeps us attached to our religion, traditions,
festivals and beliefs. Our heritage provides clues to our past and how our society has evolved. One of the
best ways to keep our culture alive is to educate the present generation about our traditions and beliefs so
that they can carry forward it. I will fail in my duty if I do not retrospect about the feedback I received from
the premier edition of our e-magazine. To receive such positive and overwhelming responses from different
walks of life really boosted my confidence. I'm sure this edition will also be a unique one and will have
                            articles of great interest.

Our country is a land of festivals and rich in culture and heritage.
Celebrating festivals not only keeps our traditions and heritage alive in the hearts of young and old, they also
create strong bonds amongst members of the society ...bringing people closer...a reason to celebrate!
Our efforts to include this theme in Campus Roots has been manifold- presenting to our young readers a
carpet woven around the numerous aspects of culture and values, showcasing the culture-rich heritage of
                                                                       our beautiful country India.

India is a land of cultural diversity. As Indians, we are proud of our culture. No matter where we grow up,
where we go, our culture will always be something we can take with us. As teachers, it is significant for us to
teach our students about cultural heritage because through a proper understanding, students will be able to
connect and appreciate cultural heritage and they will be able to apply it to their own life. I believe that
when our kids understand the richness of our culture, they will learn to value it more. And the more they
value it, the more inclined they will be to uphold its principles and teachings.
Remember, we preserve our heritage to appreciate what our ancestors left behind!
Through this edition of our e magazine, we urge students to understand, appreciate, value and be proud of
                            our culture.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. - Pablo Picasso
I firmly believe in this quote of Pablo Picasso. As an arts teacher, using a multi-disciplinary approach, I always
like to teach and share knowledge of our culture and create a sense of appreciation among our children
about the diversity and richness of our cultural heritage.
At school, I'm engaged in supporting newer, simpler and innovative methodologies of teaching cultural arts
like Warli Art, Madhubani Art, Miniature Art, Gothic Art, Tanjore Art, Pattachitra, Tie and Dye Art etc..... to
my students. I am trying my best to keep these traditional art works alive by passing it to the present
                                                                                     generation.

India is a land of festivals and fairs. Virtually celebrating each day of the year, there are more festivals celebrated
in India than anywhere else in the world. Each festival pertains to different occasions, some welcome the
seasons of the year, the harvest, the rains, or the full moon. Others celebrate religious occasions, the birthdays
of divine beings and saints, or the advent of the New Year. A number of these festivals are common to most
parts of India. However, they may be called by different names in various parts of the country or may be
                            celebrated in a different fashion.
A national festival is an occasion to refine and rebuild the national character. - Narendra Modi
I'm learning immensely along as our e-magazine is growing. As technology being my passion, I always encourage
my students to make the most out of it. Especially now-a-days as we face this pandemic situation, everything
turned out to be working from home using technology and I keep offering best of my knowledge to my students
to stay updated in this field.
